The Natural Color & Beauty of Wood

The wood for every cabinet created by our vendors is carefully selected. Mother Nature however insists on originality, so the characteristics of the wood grain and finish, weather in Cherry , Maple, Oak, Alder, Hickory & Pine, will naturally vary slightly from piece to piece. When it all comes together you will be satisfied with the “Wow” factor that wood has to offer.

Building Quality Cabinets & Staying Green

Not only do they work proactively to identify potential environmental risks, but they carefully select their suppliers to encourage sustainable forestry practices. The vendors we have thoughtfully selected to work with use leading edge technology to reduce waste, limit emissions and byproducts alongside having ongoing programs to identify opportunities for proper recycling and reusing materials to limit their environmental impact.

How To Prepare For A Remodel:

Your Remodel Is An Investment. It Should Be Treated As Such.

One of the first and most important things you can do before you begin is to be sure of what you want to accomplish and what your budget is going to be.

Beyond improving the quality of your life, remodeling increases the value of your home. The average kitchen remodel recoups on average 61.5% of every dollar spent. Master bath remodels recoup on average 57.5% of every dollar spent. Spend your dollars wisely.

Before you start to calculate your return, take a realistic look at your budget. Discuss what you are willing to spend with me so we can work together to get the function & look you desire with the highest quality materials possible. At Generations Kitchen & Bath we have carefully selected vendors to do just that for every budget. We want to work with you to create a space you will be proud of. Hiring a qualified designer will ultimately save you money in the long run.

Under the best of circumstances remodeling is disruptive. Our suggestion is to get the family ready. Discuss what the end goals are, as well as, the time frame needed to achieve them. Make everyone aware of alternative areas of the home where day to day living can be done comfortably.

In some instances it may be best to advise your neighbors of what is about to take place. If you happen to live in an area where parking is limited, your neighbors will appreciate the notification that there will be workers parking there for the duration of your project.

Communication is key. Generations Kitchen & Bath will be right there with you managing the workers and the schedule. We will need to work together to set proper guidelines for work hours ect. To make sure you are as comfortable as possible throughout the process. At Generations Kitchen & Bath safety is paramount. We need to work together to set up an area for power tool storage. We will insure that your home is cleaned and all power tools placed in the designated area every evening.

Some other things to consider are:

Create a temporary kitchen. A laundry or bath room is a great place to consider. You are going to still want your morning coffee. In that temporary kitchen a microwave will come in handy. Stock up on disposable flatware, plates & cups. Eating out often will take place out of ease. This should be something you factor into your budget.

Deliveries will happen. There will be several bulky items that will be delivered to your house. Setting up a designated “storage” are for these items will make life easy.
